Maxomorra is a GOTS Certified brand, which means that the cotton is organic and grown with care for the planet. The dyes used are carefully monitored so they do not damage the environment and are kind to human skin. GOTS is also an ethical certification, meaning that factory workers are looked after and well paid. All parts of the supply chain are ethical, and this certification is monitored to ensure that you, the end user can enjoy your product with a clear conscience.
Maxomorra is currently looking at ways to reduce its plastic footprint, which is still an issue in the fashion industry. Unfortunately, without the use of plastic bags one of our suppliers found an unsustainable level of clothing damage in their final garments through the manufacture, storage and supply chain. Here at Uni and Jack we don’t claim to be perfect but our aim is to avoid introducing any new things into the plastic supply chain, where there is affordable and practical. We therefore reuse or share plastic garment bags where practical, and we send these on to you in the hope they can be used again. If necessary we purchase safe biodegradable or recycled plastic where possible, and during the pandemic we moved over to paper bags, which also reduce the virus transmission risk. Our printers use wax so that we avoid toner cartridge plastic. As with all things green, we don’t get it right all the time but we live with doing our best with the philosophy that 1000 people doing what they can is better than just one perfect eco individual standing on their own.
